Painting a wooden box

It's not that hard and need not required painting skills to create decorative jewelry box. You should have interest and time that's it.  Now lets start the fun project.

1. Get a plain wooden box. You can find one in any crafts store.

2. Grab different paint colors and paint brushes.  Also items that you can find in any crafts store.

3. Select a theme and start painting.

4. Finally enjoy what you have created.

How to make Thotakura kadala/Amaranthus stems curry

 1.Chop the onions, green chilies and stems.

2. Heat the pan and pour oil then add urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pinch of turmeric powder and some curry leaves.

3. After the seed mixture turns light brown color add chopped onions and chilies.

4. After onions turn into golden brown color add chopped stems

5. Add half spoon of red chilly powder and salt for taste.

 6. Add water (about 1/4th cup).

7. Put lid on for 10 minutes or until stems become soft.

8. Before turning stove off just add 1/4th cup of milk.

9. That's it.  Delicious stems curry is ready.

Simple Rangoli idea for Diwali

Everyone gets excited for Diwali all over India irrespective of region. So from my side I wanted to share one simple rangoli because for diwali every house looks so bright and colorful with lights and rangoli. Here is the simple floral design with white border and red, green and yellow colors filled in. Final touch of lights and it brings diwali to the house.
